Enhanced, user-friendly interface:
- The Media Player 11 interface makes finding the media you want easier than ever. The complicated (and sometimes convoluted) trees that once appeared in the Media Player Library are gone. Now when you select a category from the Library, the content in that category appears off to the right instead of under the category on the left. Finally, no more long album and artist listings that scroll into infinity!
- With the trees gone, Media Player 11 is easier to navigate than any of its predecessors. There aren’t any lines between the trees, album information, or CD cover art, and the default album art view now shows album art and track information in the center of the screen. All of this makes finding the information you want a lot easier.
- Along with enhanced views, the buttons at the top of the interface contain new shortcuts. Some of my favorites include adjusting format and bitrate on the fly for CD ripping, and switching back and forth from audio to data settings for CD burning. With these new shortcuts, you’ll spend more time viewing and listening to your media, and less time managing it.
- Enhanced new playback controls at the bottom of the screen. They’re large and easy to use, and intuitive enough for anyone to easily operate. No more fumbling around trying to click those small controls from the old Media Player, and no more awkward scrambling for the mute button when your boss enters the room.

ProxyCommander is a windows program that runs in the system tray and allows you to quickly change between proxy servers, or to quickly change proxy settings. Proxy now can be changed from the system tray within a few clicks. No more need to open a lot of windows to change proxy settings (Tools -> Internet Options-> Connection-> LAN Settings)
ProxyCommander is designed for users who use a laptop between home and work, or for anyone who needs to be able to quickly change a proxy setting in IE and System.
You might change proxy settings using IE while ProxyCommander is running. It will detect changes and will activate another proxy from it’s list or will create a new one if proxy is not yet added to ProxyCommander.
ProxyCommander works with both configuration scripts and proxy servers. The program will read your existing proxy settings for all existing connections the first time you start it. SwitchProxy
If you work with more than one proxy on a regular basis, you probably know how annoying it is to keep track of them; not to mention the number of clicks it takes to switch between.
SwitchProxy is a Mozilla tool you can use to organize all your proxies. You can add, edit and remove them from a single master list. When you need to use one, just select it from the list and click apply.
Anonymous Feature
The SwitchProxy tool now has an Anonymous Proxy feature. An anonymizer uses a list of proxies that it randomly switches between at defined intervals. Many people used anonymizers to sheild their IP address and protect themselves from hackers, online tracking, havesting and other website snooping techniques.
How do I access the SwitchProxy features?
You can access the SwitchProxy features from the Toolbar, Context Menu (right-click menu) and/or as a Toolbar Element. This means that all of your proxies are always close at hand and easy to switch between.
Tools Menu (Firefox, Mozilla, Thunderbird):
Click Tools > SwitchProxy to access all the SwitchProxy features. You can add, edit and remove proxies by clicking the “Manage Proxies” menu item.
Toolbar (Firefox, Mozilla):
After you install SwitchProxy, a toolbar should automatically appear in your browser. If you do not want to use the toolbar, you can make it disapear in the following two ways. In Firefox, click View > Toolbars > SwitchProxy Toolbar. In Mozilla click the options button in the toolbar, and select “Preferences”. When the dialog appears uncheck “Show Toolbar”.
Context Menu (Firefox, Mozilla):
The context menu option should automatically be turned on. To access this, right-click in the main browser area. Look down to the SwitchProxy menu item. From there you should be able to access all SwitchProxy features. To disable the context menu (from the Context Menu) click SwitchProxy > Options > Preferences and uncheck the “Show Context Menu” option. You can add, edit and remove proxies by clicking the “Manage Proxies” menu item.
Toolbar Element (Firefox):
In Firefox, a toolbar element is a single element that can be added to the toolbar. This allows you to collapse the full SwitchProxy toolbar and still have all the SwitchProxy features. To add this, click View > Toolbars > Customize. In the dialog that appears, find an element that says “SwitchProxy”. Drag that element to wherever you want it in the toolbar area. You can add, edit and remove proxies by clicking the “Manage Proxies” menu item.
Adding a Standard Proxy Configuration
Follow the steps below to add a standard proxy configuration
1. Click on “Add” from one of the SwitchProxy menus listed above (of the Manage Proxies dialog).
2. Select “Standard” from the dialog that pops up, then click “Next”
3. Enter a Proxy Label as you would like to see it in the list.
4. Enter all other Proxy information
5. Click ‘OK’
Adding an Anonymous Proxy Configuration
An anonymous proxy configuration is for people that would like to hide their IP information when the browse the web. This will switch to a random proxy IP or Domain address from a list you enter at a defined interval.
1. Click on “Add” from the SwitchProxy toolbar (or “Manage Proxies” dialog).
2. Select “Anonymous” from the dialog that pops up, then click “Next”
3. Enter a Proxy Label as you would like to see it in the list.
4. You can import the list from a file or URL. The format of the file or URL must be plain text with one proxy per line.
5. If you imported from a URL, you can choose to have this list automatically updated every 24 hours by clicking the checkbox.
NOTE: If you select this option it will remove any manually added entries when it updates
6. You can manually add a proxy, by typing it in the field and clicking “Add”
7. Enter the number of seconds between proxy rotations in the “seconds” field
8. Click ‘OK’
Using a proxy (from the Toolbar)
1. Select the proxy you would like to use from the list
2. Click the ‘Apply’ button in the SwitchProxy toolbar
3. You should see the text change in the status box
4. If it was sucessful, it will display a message like, “Using ProxyName”, where ProxyName is the name from the list
5. NOTE: When you switch to a proxy, this proxy will be used in all tabs and windows.
Using a proxy (Tools Menu, Context Menu or Toolbar Element)
1. Select the proxy you would like to use from the list
2. That proxy should automatically load
